a textile studio called EARTHUES in seattle specializes in natural dyes. you can buy color kits, indigo kits or seperate color extract. its an ancient process and all their dyes are organic and fairly bought. indigo, madder, logwood grey, logwood purple, cochineal, weld, fustic, cutch, quebracho red are just some of the dyes that they have. they come from the earth and are non toxic! you can call their studio if you have natural dye questions! love life and the earth

Ooo... thank you. There is also a business in Portland, Aurora Silks, that sells natural dyes, including the raw materials for you to make your own solution. 503-286-4149

    Oh I LOVE Earthues!

Lovely, big exposed-brick space. Great staff, soft-spoken and extremely helpful! If I'm not mistaken, last I was there they had whole cochineal! (Yay, red-dye 40!) Oh, it's been too long...

Can you tell that I love them?

I was going to recommend earthues, the company that I work for uses them for all of our organic & 100% biodegradable clothing line.

With most natural dyes, you are limited in the color palettes, however at my last meeting with them, they had vibrant yellows and pink shades.
