batik/ wax removal

topic posted Sat, January 6, 2007 - 11:13 AM by  Amanda
I'm working on a batik on cotton fabric. I've ironed out most of the wax between pieces of newsprint paper, but there's still a stubborn residue. Should I try boiling the rest out in soapy water or is there a better method that I'm missing?

My experience with batik is to keep ironing with paper until it is mostly out.
If you used procion dyes or high quality dye it should be ok to run thru the washer to get rid of a little residue. Otherwise, try to keep ironing it out. Keep on crafting!
